Guide to Deleting Items in Sales

In Sales, some menu items can be deleted, while others can only be hidden or deactivated.  This guide provides a brief overview of which items can be deleted vs hidden vs deactivated, in addition to requirements when deleting items related to or associated with other items.

 

Accounts: Can be deleted.

Pricing Groups: Can be deleted.

Distribution Lists: Can be deleted.

Brands: Can be deleted if a brand has no associated products or templates. 

If a brand has products and templates, all products and templates will first need to be reassigned to a different brand before the brand can be deleted.

Categories: Can be deleted if the category has no associated products and is not being used in active inventory allocations.

If a category contains products, the products will need to be reassigned to a different category. If a category is being used in active inventory allocations, the category will need to be removed from all active Inventory allocations before it can be deleted.  If the inventory allocations that contain the category are being used in active offers, the offers must first be placed on hold then the inventory allocations must be unlocked before the category can be removed and then deleted.

Attributes: Cannot be deleted but can be hidden. 

When an attribute is hidden it is still listed on the Attributes page but it will not be available for selection when creating products.

Click the toggle in the Attribute's Status column (you can also click on the attribute then click the Status toggle). Screenshot_2023-01-03_at_3.43.36_PM.png

Attribute Groups: Cannot be deleted but can be hidden. 

When an attribute group is hidden, it is still listed on the Attribute Groups page but it will not be available for selection when creating products.

Click the toggle in the Attribute Group's Visibility column (you can also click on the attribute group then click the Visibility toggle).  Screenshot_2023-01-03_at_3.46.46_PM.png

Products: Can be moved to Trash and then automatically deleted after being in the trash for 30 days if a product is not currently being used in any active Inventory Allocations and/or Offers. 

If a product is being used in active Inventory Allocations and/or Offers, the Offers must be placed on hold and Inventory Allocation must be unlocked before the product can be removed and then deleted. Trashing a product moves it from the Products page to the Trash page.  Trashing a product also removes it from all Templates, Brands, and Categories. Trashed products can be restored within 30 days of being trashed.

Click the product's 3 dots icon and select Move to Trash (you can also click on the product then click the Move to Trash button). Screenshot_2023-01-03_at_3.56.23_PM.png

Templates: Cannot be deleted, hidden, or deactivated.

 

Inventory Allocations: Can be deleted if inactive.

Offers: Can be deleted if they are expired or have an Open status. 

Active and On Hold offers cannot be deleted.  Offers are open when they are not being used in any active campaigns, when an offer is used in an active campaign it becomes Active. Offers automatically expire when the offers' selected inventory allocations become inactive, when the offers' inventory allocations are inactive the offers will automatically expire and can be deleted.

Campaigns: Can be deleted if canceled.  Active or Paused campaigns must first be canceled before they can be deleted.

Click the Cancelled campaign's 3 dots icon and select Delete (you can also click on the canceled campaign then click the Delete Button). Screenshot_2023-01-03_at_4.14.08_PM.png

Orders: Cannot be deleted but can be canceled and then archived.  Archiving an order moves it from the Orders page to the Archives page. Only Canceled and Received orders can be archived.

Archived Orders: Cannot be deleted, hidden, or deactivated but can be restored which moves an order from the Archives page to the Orders page. 

Click the Archived order's 3 dots icon and select Restore (you can also select the Archived order, click Actions, and select Restore). Screenshot_2023-01-03_at_4.40.46_PM.png

Export Files: Can be deleted.
